Qrow Branwen是毕业自信标学院Beacon Academy的老一辈猎人，他也是Ruby Rose的战斗导师、Yang Xiao Long的舅舅，Professor Ozpin指派的谍报人员，自称属于某个“部落”。
Qrow一头油腻的灰发，平日里前面的头发总是部分遮住他琥珀红色的眼睛，下巴上被剃过的络腮胡明显可见。Qrow的常服/战斗服包括一件白色与淡灰色主色调的燕尾长袖衫和黑色西装长裤，蹬一双黑色皮鞋，背披一条破旧的玫瑰红披风。Qrow其他的首饰包括脖子上横挂着的银十字架和右胳膊佩戴的黑色护腕，以及右手三枚银色戒指：食指两枚，无名指一枚。根据Yang Xiao Long回忆，早年的Qrow是一名身披黑色兜帽披风、穿着黑暗色调衣服、脸戴面具的男子。
特别的是，在施展某些能力时，Qrow的眼睛会闪光。
Qrow的人设原型可能是威尔士神话《马比诺吉昂》中的英格兰王，巨人“Bendigeidfran（Bran the Blessed）”，他有一个名为Branwen的妹妹，可能就是Raven的原型。考虑到他和Ozpin还有Ironwood的关系，他一个原型也说不定是《绿野仙踪》里的稻草人（Scarecrow）。
他的名字“Qrow”是英语词“Crow”（“乌鸦”之意）的变体，姓氏“Branwen”在威尔士语中意指“神圣的白渡鸦”。他的个人纹章是口含齿轮的乌鸦。
