从2013年Gameloft公布他们将要制作一款以古罗马为背景、受邪恶力量奴隶灵魂的强大战士们的抗争的游戏，这款游戏将会一款格斗类手游，并且虽然写的是凡人，但是为了让剧情更加丰富多彩，西方众神也会乱入到其中。这难道又是凡人推倒众神，重获自由的老段子?又或者是宙斯的私生子报复全神界?……玩家们各种脑洞大开，纷纷对剧情的后续加以揣测。
直到昨天，Gameloft才说了关于这款游戏的一句话：“Coming soon”(很快到来)，这句话让作为“颜控”的粉丝们欣喜若狂，终于能够不用忍受市面上的那些画质超差的手游了;喜欢格斗类游戏的玩家则说：“花了那么长时间做的游戏可不要让我失望，不然拆了你的公司!”于是乎，各种铺天盖地地关于《罗马之神》的话题由此展开。
